Former Socialist Party MP, Ledi Shamku Shkreli, has reacted after the police escorted two activists during this Thursday’s protest in front of the Parliament.
Through a post on social networks, Shamku announces that American linguistic anthropologist Carrie Ann Morgan and artist Elsa Paja have been accompanied to Police Station No. 3.
She calls the police intervention unjustified and announces that she will appear at the police station to support them.
In her reaction, the former MP writes that the slogan that, according to her, best summarizes today’s protest is: “And you, which side of the fence are you on?”
In the full post, Shamku writes:
“Carrie Ann Morgan, linguistic anthropologist, my colleague, researcher, and free spirit, joined us today during the protest.”
Elsa Paja, artist, illustrator, my friend, a soul as beautiful as the Vjosa-Narta that she protects, was joined today.
I think that as of today, the most common slogan of this protest is: ‘And you, which side of the fence are you on?’
“See you in a moment at Police Station No. 3, where Carrie and Elsa are being held under escort!”
Shamku’s reaction comes after tensions were recorded during the protest in front of the Parliament, which was accompanied by clashes between protesters and police, the use of tear gas and pepper spray, as well as the escorting of some protest participants.
